What is NVVA Plus?
NVVA Plus is the way to access additional training for athletes and families that want to take their skills to a higher level. Use this site to find and register for skills classes, private lessons, open gyms, and online video training. Our resources range from access to free online training to private instruction with our best coaches. So whether you are looking to schedule a single class or want to take advantage of an NVVA Plus membership, your experience is what you make it!
Online Skills Training

Our open gyms allow athletes to play with friends and teammates outside of the structure of a class or team practice. Open gyms are $15 per athlete or $0 with an NVVA Plus membership. Each open gym will run for an hour and a half on Fridays and Sundays. Be sure to select the correct skill level.
Players with strong passing skills are more likely to secure a spot on a team. Our passing classes guide athletes toward proper technique and provide valuable feedback according to NVVA’s core principles. Serving is the moment of the game that requires the most concentration. The goal is to help our athletes to gain consistency and power. Front row players finish the third contact on the ball with a powerful swing. A strong hitter can direct the ball to the opposing team’s weak spots, scoring points for their team. After a good pass, the setter sets the ball up for a front-row hit. The setter is essential to a successful attack on the opposing team and winning matches. Depending on skill level, our 101 class for beginners or our 102 class for advanced/intermediate athletes will provide training for the hitting skill.
Our premium coaches specialize in training athletes with more experience who require more nuanced direction, while our gold coaches work with beginner athletes who are developing basic mechanics and aspects of the game.
Coach Mike discovered his love for volleyball while in college. He has experience with a variety of teams and players and has coached with NVVA since 2010! He has also been involved with LYV for over a decade!
Coach Brett worked as a high school and middle school head coach for Trinity for two years. He also played at West Virginia University at the club level!
Originally from Brazil, Manius has played professionally for 23 years. He was won titles in passing, blocking, and attacking. Manius was considered the best passer in the world for some of his career!
Antonio has coached at many different levels at a club in New Jersey and at the collegiate level in West Virginia. He has also played volleyball for over ten years.
Coach Rei played collegiate club level volleyball at JMU from 2018-2022 while coaching young athletes in his area. At NVVA, he serves as one of our full time coaches and works with athletes of all ages and stages.
